The following weeks of the NFL 2021 season are going to be even spicier for Odell Beckham Jr. fans as the superstar wideout has reportedly decided to join a postseason contender team. The star wide receiver is all set to go on waivers Monday and be claimed by 4 p.m. ET the next day after the NFL and NFL Players Association approved his restructured contract.
However, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he “does not want to go to just any team” but instead “wants to spend the rest of this season with a playoff contender and in a winning environment, where he believes he would be happy and productive.”

Landing spots for Odell Beckham Jr.
The NFL has gone bonkers right now as many teams with winning records and well-poised offenses are looking forward to getting associated with the wideout. However, if a team that does not fit the criteria, signs Beckham and the remaining $7.25 million of his contract, “there could be potential issues for that team.”
Whether he is released today or tomorrow, Odell Beckham Jr. cannot be claimed on waivers until 4 pm Monday, at the earliest.

Baker Mayfield opens up on the matter
OBJ and the Cleveland Browns have settled on the restructured contract, clearing his way out of the team and joining a franchise which catches his fancy the most. However, it could not have been possible had Beckham senior not shared the video on Instagram of his son not receiving the ball from Baker Mayfield on multiple occasions.

“I’ve had conversations with his dad before, man-to-man, face-to-face, and I was pretty surprised by the video and the intentions and the feelings behind it,” Mayfield told reporters. “I would be lying if I said otherwise.” If Beckham seeks revenge from the Browns, then Patriots would be his next stop.
