Colin Kaepernick has pushed everything into his bid to rejoin the NFL in recent months. The former Niners quarterback hasn’t competed in the NFL since 2016. He has since been having workouts with pro athletes, showing up with throwing drills, and preaching his intention to return to the game. ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith has been and will continue to back him. However, all of this “turnaround” rhetoric is tiring him out.

Colin Kaepernick last played in the NFL in 2016, and for the past couple of years and beyond, there seems to be a period within every NFL offseason when a prospective Kaepernick resurgence has sparked considerable buzz. We’re currently in the midst of the 2022 offseason, and indeed the Colin-NFL resurrection saga continues.

Stephen A. Smith had enough of the Colin Kaepernick return saga

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith wrapped up Tuesday’s episode of the ‘First Take’ Podcast with a monologue about one of America’s most divisive athletes, Colin Kaepernick, and his return to the NFL after a two-year absence. The long-time analyst has stated unequivocally how he has favored Kaepernick and the 49ers since their inception.

He mentions, “I want to make sure I’m very, very clear about this because this has gotten on my last nerve and I’m going to put this to bed once and for all. Colin Kaepernick was black-balled. Colin Kaepernick was mistreated. Colin Kaepernick should be in the NFL. Colin Kaepernick should have never been out of the NFL. He violated no laws. He violated no NFL bylaws,” Smith said. “He got s****** over. Period.”

On Monday, the 34-year-old quarterback appeared on the “I AM ATHLETE” podcast and maintained his drive. He “definitely” intends to play at the professional level again and seems to be willing to come back as a backup quarterback if it enhances his prospects of returning.

Ever since Colin’s exit, he has been training with pro athletes in order to display his potential. Colin had recent conversations with the Seattle Seahawks, but they never struck a contract. There’s a hope that Kaepernick will return to the NFL before the 2022 campaign if he continues to work hard in the offseason. However, those possibilities are minimal.
