Deion Sanders is very popular among Dallas Cowboys fans. His name has been constantly linked to the head coaching position of the Cowboys. It’s because of his great performances for the team and also due to the excellent work he has been doing for Jackson State. Back in 2012, Sanders took a cheeky dig at Jerry Jones.

Sanders knows about the competitive spirit of Jerry Jones. He wants his team to win every time, and when the going gets tough, Jones is ready to make tough decisions. That’s what happened in 2012. The Dallas Cowboys weren’t having their best of campaigns that season.

Heading into the Week 13 fixture against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cowboys had a record of 5-6. Their chances of reaching the playoffs were diminishing, and they desperately needed to win against the Eagles. Such was the desperation for a win, Deion Sanders made a comment about the game.

He said, “If the Cowboys lose this game, Jerry Jones will fire and cut everybody but the Cheerleaders.” Sanders knew if the Cowboys lost to their division rivals, the Eagles, Jerry Jones would be furious, and it could lead to major decisions around the franchise.

Fortunately, the Dallas Cowboys were able to win that game. They won by a score of 38-33 and improved their record to 6-6. However, they weren’t able to reach the playoffs that season, as they ended up with a record of 8-8. They finished at 3rd place in the NFC East.
