Stephen A. Smith started his week with by calling out NFL star Aaron Rodgers. The ESPN journalist straight away told the back-to-back MVP to “Shut the hell up!”. The Green Bay Packers are gearing up for a possible season ending run in with the Detroit Lions. While, Smith is a very vocal supporter of Rodgers, a few days ago he decided to give the QB a piece of his mind. However, the 55-year-old somewhat flipped the script with his take after he explained his frustration in more detail.

Stephen A. Smith recently made an appearance on the Pat McAfee show, which belongs to another one of the Rodgers fan factions. The host of the show could not resist but confront his guest on the latest shot at the 39-year-old QB. Explaining why he said what he said, Smith turned the ship around on what seemed to be a simple case of player bashing.

The long time A-Rod backer started by saying, “Aaron Rogers is the greatest talent I’ve ever seen in the quarterback position in my life.” Putting the Super Bowl champion ahead of younger contemporaries like Patrick Mahomes. But even after the praise, Smith explained that the player’s latest press conference remarks really irked the journalist. According to him, after going 4-8 in the season, the Packers should be rejuvenated with their play-off chances. Instead, it was the QB making other less energetic revelations. “You sit there ‘well the memories were nice and yeah I mean if this is it this is it’, excuse me excuse my language the f**k are you talking about?” Smith said, venting about the comments.

Nevertheless, the popular sports media figurehead is still an ardent campaigner for Rodgers. “I don’t care about who lost how many playoff games… You’re Aaron freaking Rodgers excuse me, you get in, it’s a game changer,” Continued Smith. “When you got fans like me, who is a fan of Aaron Rodgers. I want that brother like this, ‘we here. You shouldn’t have let us get here. Ya’ll are in a load of trouble cause here we come’.”
