Aaron Rodgers just made his first post-darkness appearance in the public hemisphere. However, it looks like the 4x NFL MVP hasn’t arrived at a conclusive decision on his NFL future yet. And some veterans and former world champions have simply had enough of these charades.

Host of the Skip and Shannon: Undisputed and 3x Super Bowl champion, Shannon Sharpe wants the Green Bay Packers to wash their hand off these shenanigans. He urged the Packers’ ownership to divert their attention towards backup QB, Jordan Love. And Rodgers like they would a mushroom.

After coming off one of the worst seasons of his 18-year career where he recorded career-low passing yards (3695) and 12 interceptions (2nd highest in career), Aaron is understandably taking longer to figure things out. The Packers failed to make the playoff with an 8-9 record, the first time they missed the postseason since 2018.

Rodger’s been out of the Sky Cave darkness retreat for more than a week now. And during his appearance on the Aubrey Marcus podcast, A-Rod specified a couple of things. “I’m not looking for somebody to tell me what the answer is. All the answers are right inside me, and I touched many of them on both sides during the darkness. I’m thankful. There’s a finality to this decision. I don’t make it lightly. I don’t want to drag anybody around. This is my life. It’s important to me. And I’ll make a decision soon enough,” he said.

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport also put retirement on the table recently. And Aaron Rodgers confirmed the reporter’s thoughts. “I spent parts of a couple of the days imagining what it would be like to retire, and then imagining what it would be like to continue to play,” the Super Bowl XLV MVP added.

Shannon Sharpe blasts A-Rod

Former Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens tight end Shannon Sharpe wants Green Bay Packers GM Brian Gutekunst to conclude the Aaron Rodgers saga. “If I’m Brian Gutekunst, I’m gonna treat him like a mushroom. I’m gonna put him in a cool damp area with dark and I’m gonna leave it. I am moving on. Not allowing Aaron Rodgers to hold my franchise hostage,” Sharpe told his co-host Skip Bayless, who, for once, seemed to agree with Shannon.

In his conversation with the press at the Indianapolis NFL Scouting Combine, Gutekunst expressed more excitement about Jordan Love’s future. “Our feelings haven’t changed about Aaron, but we need to have those conversations,” he said.

Brian Gutekunst has previously expressed an interest in ushering the Packers into the Jordan Love era. If Aaron Rodgers plans to return to Wisconsin, he may want to consider making his move soon before his hand is forced.
