The verdict is finally out, and the deal is finally done. Aaron Rodgers is headed to the New York Jets. Surely, the Jets fans might have been waiting for this auspicious occasion when the back-to-back NFL MVP announces his decision of joining their favorite team. After weeks of deliberation and rumors, Rodgers finally confirmed the much-awaited. The QB, fresh out of his time in a dark cabin, confirmed his decision on the ‘Pat Mcafee Show’. In line with the decisions of past Packers legend Brett Favre, Rodgers too will set camp in New York

Rodgers was in exile spending five whole days in a dark cabin in the woods. In the show, Rodgers detailed his wild experiences in his time of meditation and deliberation. One of the most interesting things that Rodgers mentioned about the experience was the fact that being in complete darkness led to some hallucinations. Without any external stimuli to keep his mind occupied, Rodgers’ brain began to create its own visual experiences.

Aaron Rodgers went all out to experience the authentic life in the dark. He remained locked inside his cabin for upwards of 100 hours. But during his stay, the QB described the ‘hallucinations’ he would face. Reminiscent of the Netflix Show ‘Queens Gambit’, Rodgers told McAfee about the extent of the tricks his mind would play due to the darkness.

“There’s not a lot of sound in there, thats why the meditation in there is incredible. ‘Cause there’s zero distractions, there’s zero light. Your eyes don’t adjust, so you can’t even see parts of the room. You have some hallucinations at some point where the room looks different than it actually does,” Rodgers said.

This might sound extreme, but Rodgers is no stranger to testing the extremes. The QB has openly spoken about his experiences with trying the experimental Ayahuasca drug from South America.

With his willingness to test his boundaries, Rodgers’ exile is certainly nothing new to the veteran. The QB stated that the ‘darkness retreat’ helped him in clearing his mind and soul, and that is why he could come to a concrete decision.

The biggest decision of the NFL offseason is finally set in stone now. The Jets will surely fancy their chances as potential contenders after landing one of the top players in the game. For the Packers, they have slowly and surely been preparing themselves for the inevitable news of Rodgers leaving. This will still come as a blow to the team.
