The Ravens’ tight end joined the Super Bowl LVII special ‘Voncast’ episode with the Buffalo Bills linebacker. And both players spoke their hearts out about Lamar’s impending contract extension. The Ravens have been vocal about keeping him but have not acted on it yet.

Despite prior promises from Ravens GM Eric DeCosta, Lamar Jackson has not received a max-contract extension. And for the first time since 2018, the former Heisman Trophy winner is a free agent as the NFL heads into the off-season.

Miller and Mark Andrews discussed it candidly. “He does more than Aaron Rodgers. He throws, he passes, and he does everything. And Aaron Rodgers is getting $50 million a year,” former Bronco Von Miller said.

“You speak facts, man. Everything you said is true, man. He deserves it. He deserves more, man. A fierce competitor. Every time he steps on the field, he’s the one, he’s the guy. There’s no one like him. He’s a very special guy. And I know he’s gonna get paid. I just hope the deal gets done. And I know that the Ravens want to get the deal done. He wants to be a Raven as well. So hopefully both parties can get together and get it done,” Andrews said.

Andrews has shown even bigger Lamar Jackson support this week

The Ravens’ tight end did not plan on having a quiet time at the Super Bowl LVII week meet-ups. In fact, in one interview with Pro Footballs Talk’s Mike Florio and Chris Simms, Lamar’s trusted offensive weapon even offered to pay Jackson himself if the Ravens don’t. “I’ll give him my paycheck if I have to,” he said.

Action Jackson’s future isn’t the only thing on Baltimore’s mind. The Ravens are also looking for an offensive coordinator after Greg Roman stepped down last month.

Moreover, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh also wants to include Lamar Jackson in the OC-search process, according to their season-ending press conference. And maybe, once the OC worry goes, Lamar can expect a Rodgers-like contract to come along.
