As everybody knows, the starting quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs was playing through a sprained ankle. Patrick Mahomes faced the Cincinnati Bengals while he was going through an injury. Fortunately, he and his team were able to win the game at the last minute. However, as the team was approaching halftime, Mahomes’ injury was aggravated because of a tackle he faced. The injury has now become a point of a joke for many fans.
The 27-year-old has been experiencing high ankle sprain throughout most of the season. The first half saw several changes in momentum. Just as two minutes were remaining before Rihanna’s much-awaited performance, Eagles linebacker T J Edwards tackled the leading shot-caller of the Chiefs. Mahomes visibly looked in pain and he also limped off the field.

The tackle came on the third down, which resulted in a subsequent punt to the Eagles with 1:22 left on the clock. Chad Henne, Kansas City’s backup, was seen warming up on the sidelines after the incident. The 2023 MVP winced in pain while the trainers helped him with his injury.

There was a high chance that the injury could become worse. That is because the athletic trainer of the Chiefs, Julie Frymer, said that a high ankle sprain takes a while to come back from. Additionally, his tissue did not completely heal. However, “he’s better than he was for sure. Every day he’s making progress, every day he’s feeling better and more normal. You can see it on the football field.” But it looks like the fear came true and now the Chiefs will have to play with an injured QB.
