Doug Pederson’s boys underwhelmed all season, especially due to the dismal performances from quarterback Carson Wentz. However, some promising displays from rookie Jalen Hurts have come as a late morale-boost for the Eagles. But Sunday’s loss to NFC East opponents, Washington Football Team, remains an enigma.

Hurst was not throwing well last night against Washington. But he kept Eagles in the game with 2 rushing TDs in the second quarter. But coach Pederson opted to bring Hurts off in favour of backup QB Nate Sudfeld. This came as a shocker to NFL audiences across the globe, and to Hurts himself.

Without a doubt, Jalen has been one of the few positives for the Eagles this season. The former University of Oklahoma product replaced veteran Wentz as the first-choice starter in Philly towards the latter half of the season. He has shown flashes of brilliance over the last few weeks but Sunday’s loss to Washington will definitely sting a little more.

Despite replacing Hurts, the Eagles failed to improve their offensive productivity. But the youngster has opted to maintain a calm demeanour regarding the whole benching while giving coach Pederson his unwavering support.

In 4 starts, Hurts has thrown for 1,061 yards with 6 passing TDs against 4 interceptions. He is widely expected to retain the starting quarterback role in Philly in 2021 ahead of the ageing Carson Wentz.
