After the end of last season, Brian Flores dropped a bombshell when he filed a lawsuit against the Miami Dolphins. He had accused the Dolphins’ owner of urging the team to lose games intentionally for tanking.
Flores also revealed that the Dolphins wanted to bring Sean Payton and Tom Brady together. This was a huge revelation, and it derailed all the future plans of both Brady and Payton. The NFL did an investigation into the matter and punished both the team and owner, Stephen Ross.

The Miami Dolphins will forfeit their first-round pick in the 2023 draft and a third-round pick in the 2024 draft. Moreover, owner Stephen Ross is suspended for six games and fined $1.5 million.
Following the announcement of punishment, Brian Flores released a statement. The statement wrote, “I am thankful that the NFL’s investigator found my factual allegations against Stephen Ross are true. At the same time, I am disappointed to learn that the investigator minimized Mr. Ross’s offers and pressure to tank games especially when I wrote and submitted a letter at the time to Dolphins executives documenting my serious concerns regarding this subject at the time which the investigator has in her possession…”

Brian Flores wasn’t happy that the tanking accusations weren’t proved right. Flores wants to protect the integrity of the game. His lawsuit certainly sheds light on what the owner was trying to do.
Stephen Ross wanted the team to prioritize better picks instead of winning games. Tanking sometimes helps a team in the long run, but intentionally losing games is never right in the professional world.
Brian Flores will now shift his focus on the upcoming season
Brian Flores had been the head coach of the Miami Dolphins since 2019. He was fired in January and earlier this year after having back-to-back winning records in both seasons. Following his exit from Miami, Flores filed that lawsuit that shook the entire NFL.
