Think of everyone in the NFL players’ community. Who’s the most likely to own a horse? You guessed it right, Rob Gronkowski. Gronk is definitely wild when it comes to his off-field antics. Known for his larger-than-life personality both on and off the field, Gronk made headlines for his past forays into the world of horse racing.
Gronk made an appearance with popular show host Kay Adams on ‘Up & Adams’. The two looked at the landscape of the NFL, and with the upcoming Kentucky Derby, a national phenomenon, the two had to take a dive into Gronk’s horse racing past. Gronk, especially, is a veteran when it comes to the world of horse racing.

Gronk spoke to Kay Adams as the show host prepares to make a trip to the upcoming Kentucky Derby. Gronk recounted the time he visited the Kentucky Derby back in 2015 and 2018 along with his Patriots teammates during his championship days in New England. It’s also no surprise that he purchased a stake in Gronkowski, a three-year-old horse set to run in the 2018 Kentucky Derby.

“I did have a horse, it actually ran into Belmont before, but we’re going to talk about that when we get closer to Kentucky.” Gronk said to Adams.
For Gronk, his investment in the Derby horse was not just a financial decision, but also an opportunity to have some fun. Interestingly, despite being at the Derby, Gronk revealed that he didn’t actually place a bet. “You know I didn’t even bet at the Derby,” he said. “I would say I should have made a bet that’s why I didn’t have as good of a time as I could have had. Yeah, I would have had the best time ever if I made a bet.”
