The 32-year-old Golden Tate has been in the NFL since 2010. The Tennessee-born athlete joined the New York Giants in 2019 on a 4-year, $37.5 million contract. However, in his time in New York, he has had its fair share of ups and downs.
Tate already made headlines earlier this season when he got into an on-field brawl with Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey.
Those two athletes have history. Last week, once again, the 1-time Super Bowl winner made headlines for all the wrong reasons.

After missing out on last Sunday’s game, Tate seems to be back in the fray for the New York Giants. He addressed the incidents from last week’s game and accepted full responsibility for his actions and their timely consequences.
“If you know me, if you know my game, I play with a lot of emotion, a lot of passion. I just got caught up in the moment. I was wrong to draw attention to myself. I take full responsibility for that,” Tate said via ESPN.

Furthermore, Tate went on to apologise for his wife’s ill-timed comments on her personal social media handle.
He said, “I wasn’t aware at the time that it happened that she had said anything. But in my wife’s defense, she is, and will always be, my biggest fan.
“I disagree with her taking it public, but that is one thing: I’ll always have her back, and I know she was, in her mind, protecting me and she was calling it as she saw it at the time without having talked to me and understood what had happened prior to that.

Golden Tate did not travel with the Giants, and won't play in Week 9.
