The Bears quarterback Justin Fields is an emerging talent, and this notion made sense when the youngster showcased splendid gameplay in the last three weeks. His rushing abilities got nationwide recognition; however, it seems to have taken a toll on his health after the quarterback reported that he’ll be “tapering back” during his training sessions.

Although early jitters affected the Bears’ season by throwing them out of playoff contention, the young quarterback Justin Fields has been impressive since the end of October.

Fans were questioning the management when the Bears failed to put up a fight, especially because of a poor offense struggling to run the ball. But the Ohio product made sure to make up for the loss by going unorthodox, showcasing unrealistic rushing skills. In the last five games, Fields ran 62 times, setting a new NFL record, becoming the first QB to do so, and ranked 15th-most among all players.

He rushed for 395 yards and registered 4 touchdowns in the last three weeks. Moreover, he also proved to be a great prospect in terms of accuracy, passing for 441 yards and recording seven touchdowns.

All these unexpected comebacks had repercussions with Fields experiencing tiredness, especially on his legs. During Wednesday’s practice sessions, he shared the news with the reporters. “I don’t even know if it was the hits; it’s just the running,” Fields said about his health.

“My legs just felt heavy after the game. The guys on the strength staff said that my load has been pretty high, so I’ve just been doing a little bit of tapering back this week in practice. . . .”

The franchise made several adjustments in the 2021 NFL draft, trading a pair of first-round picks to the New York Giants and securing the 11th pick to acquire Justin Fields into the squad. As a rookie, he stumbled and failed to live up to the expectations, with just 1870 passing yards in 10 starts.

Similarly, this season, Fields explained how it felt losing to the arch-rivals Green Bay Packers. “It hurts more in the locker room than the Bears fans,” Fields said after the game. ” I see the guys in the locker room every day. I see how much work they put in. Coming out of a disappointing loss like this, it hurts.” he added.
