Rookie Justin Herbert enjoyed arguably the best individual performance of his short NFL career on Monday night. The 22-year-old quarterback powered the Los Angeles Chargers to a convincing 10-20 lead at halftime against the New Orleans Saints.
In doing so, he became the youngest quarterback in NFL history to throw four TDs in a Monday Night Football clash. The University of Oregon product threw for 264 yards against the Saints.
However, he could not lead his team to a win as the Chargers suffered a loss by a 30-27 scoreline in overtime. This was Herbert’s fourth-consecutive loss in the league since making his debut in Week Two.
