The Chiefs will enter the field this Sunday without two of its main contributors in the offensive unit. Wide receivers Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster will miss their game against the Chargers. However, quarterback Patrick Mahomes looks confident to get through these adversities, elevating the role of Kadarius Toney in the 53-man roster.
Eying for a long run, Kansas City bought Toney from the New York Giants this season. Well, now it’s time for this youngster to shine as the veterans are benched owing to injuries. They won’t be available anytime soon.

This doesn’t make Patrick Mahomes feel anything less about his offensive unit because their depth chart is filled with efficient prospects capable enough to change the course of the game. And Mahomes believes Toney is one such asset, and they have been grooming him to adapt to this new culture.
He also mentioned that it was time to expand his role, especially after he caught four passes for 57 yards with a touchdown last week. “But just us being able to move him around as much as we have, it’s a testament to him,” Mahomes said to the reporters. “He’s really got in here, he’s learned. He’s learned multiple positions.”
“We’ve moved him around now, it’s not like he’s in that one spot. We don’t want to overwhelm him. We don’t want to put too much on his plate, but we’re going to keep giving him more and more,” he added, explaining the role of Toney in the coming days.
His presence inside the team will play a pivotal role because the season is progressing toward the end. Any jitters would certainly cost them a playoff berth and, above all, the Super Bowl contention.
Will Patrick Mahomes get his prime assets anytime soon?
