The Broncos didn’t fumble this time, in fact, secured their fourth win of the season on Sunday. All thanks to the backup, Brett Rypien, who made the calls. While the game happened to go in the Broncos’ favor without Russell Wilson, fans found this an opportunity to roast the quarterback again.

This week, Empower Field witnessed the clash of two poor-performing teams, the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals. While Russell Wilson couldn’t line up for the game, backup Brett Rypien took charge at the quarterback position.

Luckily, it turned out for the sake of Broncos country, who won the game 24-15 and recorded their fourth victory this season. Fans’ happiness knew no bounds, and netizens started roasting Wilson for winning the game without him.

Looking at the current performance of Wilson, it is fair to say that the Seahawks pulled off the biggest robbery in NFL history. The Broncos bought the former Super Bowl Champion for $245 million and made him one of the highest-paid quarterbacks in the league. However, his performance this season didn’t justify the massive figure, aiding the critics to go harsh on him.

Moreover, his back-to-back tweets on “believing yourself” and ideological references boasting about training programs fumed the fans even more. Not to mention, Wilson’s “Broncos country Let’s ride!” played a big role in it.

During the Chiefs matchup last week, Russell Wilson experienced a concussion. It happened in the fourth-quarter scramble and eventually paved the way toward the locker room. Although his health improved in the subsequent days, the management asked him to rest more and prepare for the Christmas game against the Rams.

Initially, Wilson expressed his displeasure but acknowledged the decision later on. “It was a collective decision. … They wanted me to get some extra rest,” Wilson said per ESPN. Regardless of the move, it went in favor of the team. Interestingly, it was Rypien’s third game as a starter and his second this season.

During his last matchup against the Giants, Rypien couldn’t bring a win however compensated for it this time by finishing 21-of-26 for 197 yards. Anyways, the Boise product is expected to continue with its backup status when Wilson will gear up for Christmas eve.
