“I played all the ink out on my contract…now I can’t do this and when you look at it, Jalen Hurts deal, he gets about 180 million dollars guaranteed, yeah, 110 million of that is guaranteed at signing.” Sharpe talked about Jalen Hurts’ contract, saying that he gets a lot of guaranteed money.

Shannon continued, “Lamar you want your mom to do it there you go, go to the comeback, go to the owner’s meter, but you didn’t cause you’re gonna save a few dollars and everybody’s flawed you on the back.” He explains that Lamar Jackson may be comparing his situation to Jalen Hurts’ situation.

Jalen Hurts had one more year left on his contract, plus the option for two more years of franchise tags. Sharpe noted that Jalen Hurts’ new contract includes a significant amount of guaranteed money. It includes $110 million guaranteed at signing and another $16 million guaranteed by March 2024. Sharpe views this as a good deal for Jalen Hurts, as he will earn this for playing only 17 games.
