The return of Rob Gronkowski is one of the most anticipated stories in the NFL world. Everyone is waiting for the day when the legendary tight end announces his comeback from retirement. And this week Gronk had fans and the NFL community thinking that the time is finally here with an extremely cryptic tweet.
Gronkowski turned some heads when a potential reunion with Tom Brady became a reality on Thursday. Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost their winning momentum this season after going below 500 this season once again. The 6-8 Bucs still top the NFC South Division but they have faced back-to-back losses in the regular season. And Tampa Tom could surely use some help.

And Republican Congress candidate in Virginia’s 10th District Brandon Michon had a suggestion different from the others. “Rob Gronkowski for president in 2024? Would fill up the free time, just a thought. Maybe Tom Brady as VP,” Michon tweeted out in response to Gronk.

The Gronkowski tweet sent the NFL world into a frenzied spiral expecting the 3x champion to make his on-field return. And it wasn’t just the Bucs fans who wanted his return. Fans of franchises across want Gronk to rid them of their worries. Firstly, Denver wanted Gronkowski to come to the Broncos after the dismal season by Russell Wilson and the offense. Miami and Raiders fans also voted for their franchise to bring back the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers TE. However, Gronk has always made it clear that he would only come back for one quarterback, TB12.
However, sadly for NFL fans, the entire hype might have been a marketing gimmick. The day after tweeting about his current state, Rob Gronkowski announced a huge tie-up and business deal with Fanduel, a sports betting organization. And the entire cryptic tweet episode might have just served to bring the eyeballs back on Gronk.
