When the NFL season in 2020 was hauled due to the COVID outbreak, the news of Antonio Brown joining the Bucs started surfacing. At first, Bruce Arians, the head coach of the team, denied bringing Brown to Tampa Bay.

Even after Tom Brady wanted AB to join the Bucs, the franchise wasn’t willing to bring the WR due to his questionable antics. However, when the season resumed, Brown was on the Bucs team that won the Super Bowl.

HC Bruce Arians wasn’t too keen on bringing AB to the team. Shannon Sharpe had some words to say. He believed that Brown had spoiled his reputation. Sharpe felt this way because of the things the WR did while he was with the Raiders and Patriots.

Shannon Sharpe said, “This should go to show you: Tom Brady and his resume and his character can’t vouch for Antonio Brown. Let that sink in people.” He believed that not even Tom Brady’s willingness to bring in Brown could help the fact that AB had spoiled his reputation very much in the league.

Antonio Brown later did join the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but not for very long. Despite being a crucial part of their Super Bowl success, Brown ended his career with the Bucs himself. He had stormed off the field in the game against the Jets, and the Bucs later released him.

The short stint of Antonio Brown at the Buccaneers was impactful

Even though Antonio Brown didn’t stay with the Bucs much longer, he did make a huge impact on the field whenever he was called upon. The former highest-paid WR in the NFL was a huge part of the Bucs offense spearheaded by Tom Brady.

AB had a great game at the Super Bowl as well. Things didn’t end the way he would have wanted, but he got himself that Super Bowl ring. Tom Brady had advocated for him a lot throughout his tenure with the Bucs. In the end, none of that mattered due to the nature of Brown’s exit.
