During the match against FC Dallas on Sunday, Messi’s breathtaking performance once again took the sports industry by storm. It even led to an interesting statement by a former soccer player-turned-television commentator, remarkably putting the two athletes on the same level.

According to this TV commentator, the answer is a resounding “Yes, he is!” And there is a solid reason for it. In the match, Messi’s opponents were already leading by two goals when a miraculous own goal was scored by Marco Farfan.
