The former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, is desperately attempting to make a comeback after staying away from the game for the past five years. While he is trying to attract the attention of Scouts, it seems some of them are interested in the veteran quarterback.

The quarterback-turned-social activist played his last match in 2016 before getting mired in several controversies. However, the QB seems to have not lost his flair and swing while throwing deep passes. His performance seems to have impressed the club owners. Because a handful of teams have reportedly contacted the 34-year-old to make a deal.

Kansas City Chiefs are the front-runners

According to the latest reports of CBS NFL analyst Cody Benjamin, the quarterback has eight potential spots for the upcoming season. And the top destination is the Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs. Surprisingly, the 34-year-old recently announced that he is even ready to take a backup QB role.

If any team is open to adding weapons of all kinds, it’s them(Kansas City Chiefs). Andy Reid isn’t shy about offering opportunities for comeback stories, Patrick Mahomes would likely embrace the chance to work alongside him, and Chad Henne could still stick as the more conventional pocket-passing backup” Benjamin made his speculations.

Although the Chiefs currently have two capable backups in the form of Chad Henne and Shane Buechele, the Chiefs might still go for the veteran. It is cause he can offer a great combination of backups with his past experiences and incredible talent. Benjamin also added that receiver Daurice Fountain was recently spotted running routes for Kaepernick, and Eric Bieniemy may use the QB in some of Kansas City’s trick-play formations.

Colin Kaepernick was the honorary captain for the Michigan spring game

Kaepernick was named the honorary captain for Michigan’s annual Maize and Blue spring game on Saturday. He was present at the stadium to exhibit his throwing skills during a 15-minute workout session.

The University of Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh invited Kaepernick to showcase his unwavering skills in front of the Scouts present at the stadium. The intention behind the initiative was to improve his chances to get selected by a team for the upcoming season.

Well, the star QB did not disappoint his former coach and threw monstrous passes deep down the field. Kaepernick played under Harbaugh in San Francisco and led the team to Super Bowl XLVII. In that Super Bowl run, they lost to the Baltimore Ravens in 2013.

According to the reports by CBS sports’ Josona Anderson, the former Niners coach vowed to help Kaepernick to get back into the league and these speculations by Cody Benjamin have even more improved his chances to get a spot on the roster.
