Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs didn’t face too many hurdles on their way to their 7th straight AFC West divisional title this season. And this was not what many thought would be the outcome after wideout Tyreek Hill left for the Miami Dolphins. However, Travis Kelce pulled through. And his efficiency makes Mahomes’ life much easier.

So much so that the MVP race is not even close, Mahomes being the clear winner for Kelce. Patrick Mahomes is already the youngest NFL MVP. Tight-end Travis thinks that there is no doubt about the second one coming this year for his quarterback. Pat is also the youngest QB Super Bowl MVP. And Travis won’t mind that cherry on top for his friend.

Having last won the league MVP in 2018, Patrick Mahomes knows it won’t be any easier than the last three years. Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen and Philadelphia Eagles signal-caller Jalen Hurts have consistently proven to be a challenge for 27-year-old Texas Tech Mahomes. And let’s not forget Cool Joe Burrow leading his Cincinnati Bengals with style and panache.

However, the Chiefs’ canon-arm QB still tops the leaderboards in multiple categories. Patrick Mahomes leads the league’s QBs in touchdowns (40) and QBR ratings (77.8). The father of two also recently joined the elite company of Tom Brady and Drew Brees in becoming the third-ever QB to have two 5000-yard seasons in their career. Brady has 2, but Drew still has 5. Kelce knows Pat will catch up. “Pat’s the MVP. It’s as easy as that,” Kelce made his case at a recent press conference.

A Super Bowl-winning wide receiver leaving for a rival franchise is never good news. However, Travis smoothened the transition in Tyreek’s absence. Kelce’s 12 receiving touchdowns are more than all the wide receivers in the league, bar Davante Adams. And no. 87 ranks 3rd this season in receiving yards (1300).

A first-down conversion machine, Travis Kelce broke the legendary Rob Gronkowski‘s record with his 33rd 100-yard game as a tight end. And surely, the younger Kelce brother is an offensive weapon Mahomes cannot afford to lose.
