Chase Young is the Best Player in the NFC East, Claims Former NFL Head Coach

Chase Young has been phenomenal this season. In just his rookie year, the second overall draft pick by the Washington Football Team has made quite a name for himself in the capital city.
Young was widely regarded as the best overall prospect in this year’s draft and Washington had no hesitation in drafting the 21-year-old from Ohio State.
With his impressive performances, the young defensive-end has picked up a legion of admirers. One of them being NFL analyst Rex Ryan.

Ryan, who was once the Head Coach of the Buffalo Bills and the New York Jets, was all praise for the DE during a segment of ESPN’s Get Up.
Is Chase Young the best player in the division?
When asked whether Young is the best player in the NFC East, Ryan said yes without a shade of doubt. He also brandished the defensive unit of the Washington side as the ‘best unit in the league’.
“The impact this young man has had on that football team, the Washington Football Team, is incredible! The best unit on the field in the division is their defensive line, and they are so impactful in how they’re playing.

“I mean, look, they can pressure the quarterback just by rushing those four guys,” said Ryan.

The former Jets chief also pointed out that the secret behind the defensive unit’s impressive performance is its depth. “They have depth.
“Anytime you got a guy that’s probably a 10-sack-a-year-guy, Ryan Kerrigan, as a backup, you’re in pretty good shape,” he added.
A stellar rookie season

While Young’s performances have been jaw-dropping, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise. A unanimous All-American and Heisman Trophy finalist, the DE has won numerous other accolades throughout his college career with the Ohio State Buckeyes.
With 35 tackles (solo and assisted), 5.5 sacks, and a forced fumble, Young has been the best defensive rookie this season by a long shot.

His standout moment, however, came during the game against the San Francisco 49ers. After registering a forced fumble, Young recovered the ball and ran 47 yards for his first NFL touchdown.
