This year, Ja’Marr Chase had everyone’s attention. After a record-breaking rookie season, the Bengals WR gave the fans a reason to believe. Moreover, the franchise’s incredible comeback and Super Bowl runner-up finish was a challenging task. But his reaction to setting a record of possessing more yardage than Patrick Mahomes is simply sweet.

The Cincinnati Bengals kept everyone under notice in the 2021-22 campaign. Joe Burrow pulls up a rebound to relive and forms up a lethal force alongside Ja’Marr Chase. Unsurprisingly, both athletes have strong roots that date back to their LSU days. If the duo stands tall, the NFL verse could see the next Rodgers-Adams in the making.

Ja’Marr Chase had the best rookie wide receiver output on January 2nd, 2022. The talented speedster finishes the moment with 11 catches for 266 yards. Chase also snags three touchdown passes as the Bengals defeated the Chiefs 34-31.

The 266 receiving yards are the most by a rookie in NFL record. Ja’Marr Chase did not know he broke Patrick Mahomes‘ count (259). It baffled the OROY, who discovered his statistical feat during the post-match interview. Chase was so shocked that he sought confirmation from the journalist present.

“Did I? What did he had? I don’t think I did that. Ain’t no way,” Ja’Marr Chase said, stunned. “There’s no way.” After the reporters’ confirmation, the WR quipped, “Did I? Oh, Sh*t! Oh sorry, sorry. Excuse my profanity.”

Patrick Mahomes has Ja’Marr Chase under notice

Bengals’ 34-31 triumph over the Kansas City Chiefs put Ja’Marr Chase in the limelight. After the game, Mahomes expressed his gratitude to the Bengals’ wide receiver. However, he also left him a warning. As per CBS Sports, Mahomes said, “Keep doing you.” Mahomes then mentions, “We’ll see you in the playoffs.”

Interestingly, both teams met at the Arrowhead for the AFC Championship. The Cincinnati Bengals have once more become Super Bowl-relevant. With their win over the Chiefs, the Bengals clinched the AFC North and made their first playoff appearance since 2015. Furthermore, the franchise ended the NFL’s longest postseason win drought, which lasted for 31 years. It could be a wake-up call for the adversaries, and they must keep the Bengals under notice.
