The future of Aaron Rodgers was a heated subject during the offseason. Rodgers’ future after this season is still being debated by fans and the media, despite the fact that he returned to Green Bay for the 2021 season.
Rodgers has been linked to a return to Pittsburgh in 2022, according to reports. During an interview on the Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers, whose 2-1 Packers will face the 1-2 Steelers on Sunday, gushed about Pittsburgh and head coach Mike Tomlin.

Aaron Rodgers loves Pittsburgh and its culture
Aaron Rodgers began by sharing how he has enjoyed being around Pittsburgh and its people. “I’ve been around a lot of Pittsburgh people over the years. I have loved my time with all of them,” said Rodgers, whose first coach, Mike McCarthy, is a Pittsburgh native.
He then dropped a surprise by sharing how he has picked up the Pittsburgh accent really well. He also showered his appreciation towards the city. “I have learned to speak the [Pittsburgh accent] really well, which is actually allowed me to follow and become a big fan of Pittsburgh Dad. … It’s a great, blue-collar town. There’s a lot of great people that live there. There’s a lot of history in that city.”

“I have a ton of respect for Mike”
The Green Bay Packers quarterback then went on to shower praises on Pittsburgh coach Mike McCarthy. He particularly pointed out that he admires the way he leads the team. Rodgers said, “I have a ton of respect for Mike.”

“I think he’s a fantastic coach, I love the way that he leads. I love the way that he talks after the games. He always seems to keep things really even keel. Looks like he’s somebody that players love playing for.”
Keeping Aaron Rodgers last year’s contract issue and his recent statements on Pittsburgh in mind, it sure feels like his mind is set on leaving the Green Bay Packers. The decision for Rodgers is simple. Does he want to cement his legacy as Packers legend and not leave them in this moment of peril or go to Pittsburgh and chase silverware in the final years of his career?
