The Seattle star Russell Wilson is no longer a quarterback for the Seahawks. The NFL was surprised to see him switch sides with the Denver Broncos. However, from a Broncos standpoint, they couldn’t be any happier. They were in desperate need of a star QB, who could counter the Patrick Mahomes led Kansas City Chiefs.

The Seahawks traded Wilson to the Denver Broncos in return for two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a fifth-round pick along with quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris. Many are under the impression that it was a steal for the Seahawks and that the exchange was not in favor of the Denver Broncos.

Pat McAfee, however, holds a different opinion. According to him, the Broncos did not lose the deal, in fact, it was quite the opposite.

 “There’s people saying that Seattle got the deal,” McAfee said. “They lose Russell Wilson, they got two firsts, two seconds, a fifth, and a couple of players. They won the deal. I hate people that say this. I f*cking hate it. They said about the Lions and Stafford last year. I can’t take it. You just got a Hall of Fame quarterback, probably. I give up every pick if we get a Hall of Famer quarterback, and we have a team around it.”

Keeping in mind McAfee’s argument, could the Broncos have also cracked the code to a Super Bowl? The Rams surely did by signing in Matthew Stafford. LA in the 2021 offseason, traded for the Detroit Lions’ future Hall of Famer Stafford in exchange for the first overall pick Jared Goff, along with two first-round and one third-round draft picks.

Fans speculated that the Lions had benefitted hugely from the deal. However, it was the Rams who ended up finding the missing piece of their puzzle. It can be the same for the Broncos. Considering that Denver is all ready to play alongside a future Hall of Fame quarterback, they might have just sealed the deal.
