In his interview with Todd Woodbridge of the Australian Open, Goran Ivanisevic talked about some of the problems he faced in his career. These problems reminded Todd about Nick Kyrgios which is why he asked Goran about him and what he would tell him if he had the chance. He replied by saying,

“I have always liked Nick. He is a good guy deep down but he has some issues. He is the worst for himself and I know that because I felt sometimes like that, he is fighting with like a hundred people. No sense to talk about his talents because he is a guy who can win Grand Slams. “

Everyone knows that what Goran said is true. Nick Kyrgios has an amazing game but he just gets into a lot of controversies. We all have seen these controversies and many times Nick took it too far like in the picture below.

Everybody remembers this incident which took place at the 2019 Italian Open. Here, Nick Kyrgios took it to the next level and in his anger, threw a chair. I think now we all can understand why he is not at the top of tennis yet. But that could change especially after what we saw at the 2020 Australian Open.

At that tournament, we saw a positive change in his attitude. As a result, many players like Rafael Nadal complimented him on this change and I am sure everyone will be hoping he doesn’t return to his old ways.

If Kyrgios continues like this, it shouldn’t be long before we see him end the reign of the ‘Big 3’ and win his first Grand Slam title.
