NCAA Champion on Balance Beam, All-Around Runner-Up in 2022, Eight All-America Honors, SEC Freshman of the Year, nine perfect 10s, and the first gymnast in collegiate history to perform a Nabieva on the uneven bars—these are the accolades Suni Lee earned at Auburn University. But this time, her return to Auburn wasn’t for gymnastics. It was for football.

The Olympic gold medalist shared her “side quest” on Instagram, posting from Texas A&M’s Kyle Field, where Auburn faced the Aggies. In one story, she wrote “side quest” with the Texas A&M logo shining in the background. In another, a video from inside the packed stadium, she captioned, “war damnnnn!!!” An AU flag could be seen in the clip, with the crowd of 108,449 marking the 5th-largest attendance in Kyle Field history.
Texas A&M’s defense dominated, holding Auburn to 176 yards and denying every third-down attempt. Auburn briefly rallied when Xavier Atkins intercepted and ran 73 yards to set up a Jackson Arnold touchdown, closing the gap to 13–10. But the offense stalled, and A&M sealed the win. The matchup also opened A&M’s SEC conference play for 2025. Lee has been invested in football since her early days at Auburn.

Suni Lee’s side quests in different sports
Since the 2024 Olympics, Lee has been seen in different sports, even gaming. Back in March this year, she confessed her liking for Fortnite, a battle royale game. “Guysss, I’ve been obsessed with Fortnite lately. Why is it so fun omg bug dubs,” she wrote, alongside an image of the screen, which showed that she had won.
Other than that, she also made headlines after sitting courtside at Madison Square Garden for a Knicks game in which OG Anunoby exploded for one of his best scoring nights (32 points). Fans quickly noticed the coincidence and joked that her presence was a good luck charm.

Most recently, she was also seen at the US Open. It was in the women’s final between Aryna Sabalenka and Amanda Anisimova, where Lee was at courtside enjoying the drink of the US classic, the Honey Deuce cocktail. “Hadddd to get the honey deuce,” read her Instagram story.
She also tasted the Golden Set: 24 Karat, which has six fried chicken nuggets, crème fraîche, chives, and a tin of Petrossian caviar from Michelin-starred restaurant, COQODAQ. While she dropped hints of retiring from gymnastics, she is enjoying her life outside of it. What could be her next side quest?
