MMA Fans Furious as Demetrious Johnson Reveals ‘Criminal’ Pay by the UFC After Francis Ngannou Controversy & How WWE’s CM Punk Was the Last Straw

Demetrious Johnson was one of the most revered champions in the UFC. One might wonder about the reasons and circumstances for which the former champion left. Recently, ‘Mighty Mouse’ revealed some details related to him leaving the UFC and also disclosed information related to the payout. The fans are wondering if Francis Ngannou faced a similar issue as the former UFC flyweight champion.

Moreover, after previously speaking about payouts, he further spoke about one UFC superstar’s payout and one former WWE fighter’s pay in the UFC in an interview.

Johnson found more support from the audience as one fan said, “Its criminal how the UFC treated him.” Furthermore, one more social media user added, “DJ only got PPV points his LAST fight in the ufc, no wonder he wanted out.”

However, one more fan laid out a good explanation for Johnson. He said, “Everyone wants to make Conor McGregor money without doing Conor McGregor work. McGregor won his fights. So what. Everyone wins their fights. It’s the relentless self promotion and self marketing he did outside the fight clock that set him apart.”

Similarly, another fan added, “My problem with this is again same with Ngannou. There’s no proof that they aren’t just making these numbers up outta thin air”.

Demetrious Johnson made shocking revelations about his contract

According to an Instagram post from the page ‘MMA Island’, ‘Mighty Mouse’ revealed that he earned $14K from the fight against Dominick Cruz. Moreover, he revealed that he made up to $30K in new contracts till his second fight against Joseph Benavidez. Johnson added that his new contract as champion at that time earned him $125K and a $50K bonus he didn’t get PPV points.

Furthermore, he added, “And that’s where the champion makes most of his money and buck… Because if you get on a card with Conor McGregor and he does 2.1 million buys then you just do the f*****g math. You’re gonna make a sh*tload of money. I never got an opportunity to do that.”

Speaking on a fight with TJ Dillashaw, he said, “Yeah just pay me a f*****g million dollars and let’s do it. It’s a superfight, let’s make super money. They never wanted to do that. So that’s why I came out.”

Furthermore, the former UFC flyweight champion compared his contract to CM Punk‘s. He was disappointed with the difference in payout for a UFC champion and a fighter in his second fight in UFC. He added, “where the chip on my shoulder came from.”
