The PGA Tour is making the headlines in the golfing world as recently they declared the results of the first PIP Fund. Unexpectedly but deservingly, Tiger Woods won the inaugural edition and took home the $8 million prize money. Notably, players like Bubba Watson, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and others were on the list of top 10 players. 

However, there were quite a few prominent names, like Collin Morikawa and Max Homa, who couldn’t make it to the top 10. Not to mention, only the top 10 players receive a share from the $40 million PIP prize purse. Hence, Morikawa expressed his disappointment over the same on Twitter, but Bubba wasn’t letting him have it one bit. Here’s what Watson had to say-

Bubba Watson is one of the most active golfers on social media. He tweets and interacts with his fans regularly, and hence, he has secured the 10th position on the PIP standings. However, Collin Morikawa, who had an incredible 2021 season, winning the Open Championship and the DP World Tour Championship, made a hilarious tweet and claimed that he finished 11th in the PIP standings.

And as soon as the results were released, Collin made a tweet saying, “Woke up to still being #11 on PIP. But if you don’t believe me, too bad because anything after the 10th doesn’t matter.”

Hitting back at him hilariously, Bubba Watson replied, “Sorry. Pretty sure 2022 will be your year!”

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods has bagged first place and won $8 million in the PIP standings. Next in line, Phil Mickelson ended up in second place and received $6 million. 

Not to forget, the PIP Fund for the 2022 season has been increased from $40 million to $50 million. Hence, the winners of this year will receive much bigger amounts. And surely, Morikawa will be hopeful of finishing slightly above the 11th position and win a share from the $50 million at stake.
