The PGA Tour recently imposed a new rule which shocked many. Fans have always been a part of the game, but due to the increased heckling, the tour commissioner has banned patrons from shouting ‘Brooksie’ at Bryson DeChambeau. The same goes for other golfers as well – fans can’t refer to a player with a name other than what’s originally his.
This indeed came as a shocker. Over the years, golf has always been a sport where fans had the freedom to express their views during tournaments. However, sometimes it can get ugly when some of them cross the line and abuse the golfers they dislike.
Bryson DeChambeau has been a recent victim of that. Wherever he goes, fans tend to mock him using Brooks Koepka’s name. After a point, the PGA Tour decided to intervene, and that’s what they did Tuesday evening.

Plenty of reactions poured in on Twitter following the tour’s new ruling in favor of Bryson DeChambeau. Some found the fault in it while others welcomed it. However, there were others like James Hahn who found the funny side of it.
It’s official. Calling Bryson anything but his real name will get you thrown out of a golf tournament. So if any one of you call me Kevin Na, Danny Lee or Sang Moon Bae, we’re gonna have some problems. 💪🏼
