It’s been a while since Rickie Fowler had to go through qualifying to play at the U.S. Open. But due to an unfortunate turn of events, the 32-year-old has to get past a 36-hole final qualifying to book a spot at the 121st U.S. Open at Torrey Pines.

Rickie Folwer just competed at the 2021 Memorial Tournament in Muirfield Village Golf Club. Fortunately, Fowler’s qualifying venue is nearby Muirfield Village. He is competing from Columbus, Ohio.
Rickie Fowler is currently a part of the Columbus qualifier which is being played at the Brookside Golf & Country Club and The Lakes Golf & Country Club.

Who are Fowler’s playing partners at the Columbus qualifier?
Since the Columbus qualifier is happening at two different venues simultaneously, the field is spread out evenly among the two golf courses. Rickie Fowler will be playing his 36-hole qualifier at the Brookside Golf & Country Club.
Fowler is given an 8:20 AM tee-time for the first round, and his playing partners will be Cade Breitenstine & Pierceson Coody. The trio will begin from the back nine in their first round, starting from the 10th tee.

What does Fowler have to do to qualify for U.S. Open 2021?
The final qualifiers for U.S. Open 2021 are rightly deemed as golf’s longest day. There are nine different 36-hole qualifiers taking place across the nation, and two of them are in Ohio (Springfield and Columbus). Different qualifiers consist of varied players and offer spots accordingly.
For example, the Florida qualifier at The Bear’s Club has 78 players competing for just six spots. Likewise, the Columbus qualifier has 120 players competing for 16 spots.
So the objective is simple: Rickie Fowler should finish in the Top 16 to gain entry into the U.S. Open 2021.

But it won’t just be a walk in the park for Rickie Fowler. Former major winners Charl Schwartzel, Keegan Bradley, Jason Dufner, and Padraig Harrington are also a part of the Columbus qualifier, trying to gain a spot in the U.S. Open.
