The USGA and R&A have recently announced a new rule in golf. Meanwhile, according to this new rule, no club apart from the putter can be longer than 46 inches. Moreover, the PGA Tour will implement this rule from January 1, 2022. Recently, Rory McIlroy, one of the most prominent golfers on the PGA Tour, gave his views about the same.

Rory McIlroy expounds his views about the new club length rule
Since the USGA and R&A announced the new club length rule, it has been a hot topic in the golfing world. Hence, during the pre-round press conference, a journalist asked Rory McIlroy about his views on the club length rule. And even though players like Phil Mickelson and Justin Thomas have spoken against it, Rory seemed to be okay with this new club length rule, as he believes it wil1l not make a huge difference.
"I think if this is as far as they want the ball to go, I think we're too far past like trying to roll it back, but if this is sort of setting the limit, I think it's just a preventative measure for the future. I don't think it will make a world of difference."

But still, this new rule doesn’t seem to be bothering McIlroy as he believes it is just a preventative measure.
