The 2021 Northern Trust’s final round is currently underway at the Liberty National Golf Course. And after numerous delays on an unscheduled Monday finish, round four finally started at 11:30 a.m. ET. Moreover, Rory McIlroy, who even though managed to make it to the weekend, is sadly nowhere near the trophy contention.
However, he has had a captivating start to his final round and is -8 for the tournament. He is in a brilliant touch and is hoping for a strong finish before going into the BMW Championship. But Rory is getting the attention for some other thing. Let us find out.

Rory McIlroy has Tiger edition wedges in his bag. And a golf journalist, Daniel Rapaport says, this is golf’s version of all the NBA players wearing Kobe’s. McIlory has two Tiger edition wedges. Firstly, a TW12 56-degree wedge and then a TW11 60-degree wedge.

Moreover, Rory has a SIM2 Driver with a 9-degree loft, a SIM2 fairway wood with a 15-degree loft. Additionally, he has Irons from P730 (3i-9i), which are out-and-out blades. Then, as we all know, he has an MG2 (PW), MG2 TW12 56-degree wedge, and finally an MG2 TW11 60-degree wedge.
Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy had a decent round 3 and has made a good start to his final as well so far. However, McIlroy isn’t in contention in this event because of some below-average performance in the first couple of rounds. Rory shot even-par 71 and one under 70 for the first two rounds, while leaders were comfortably sitting at -12. But he made a strong comeback in round three as he shot 5-under 66 for the day.

Currently, Jon Rahm and Cameron Smith share the lead for the event with Justin Thomas and Tony Finau just behind them with two strokes. Hence, the final round is all set for an exciting finish, and hopefully, we will have a cliffhanger of a game to finish the first event of the FedExCup playoffs.
