Soccer superstar and former teammate of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, recently shocked fans as he announced his retirement from soccer. The Welsh star is 33 years old and had begun a new chapter of his life. The LAFC winger had a fruitful 17 years of a senior career in which he scored 141 goals. The star has been a UEFA Champions League winner alongside Ronaldo and Karim Benzema. He is the leading goal scorer for his national time. However, he is eager to start a new chapter of his life.

Gareth Bale signed the LAFC to play in MLS. However, his visit to MLS lasted only one season and as of now, he is gone from all levels of the game. Mere hours ago Bale announced a big project and the new thing he is doing these days.

Gareth Bale will be playing in the PGA tour

For Gareth Bale fans it came as absolutely no surprise that the star pivoted towards golf after he retired from soccer. Golf is one of his favorite sports after soccer and now that he has time on his hands, he is trying his best to play as much golf as he can. As one fan commented on the announcement, “We all knew you were gonna go smash it with the golf… Love it, mate! Good luck!” Fans saw it coming for sure.

Gareth Bale took to Instagram to announce the big news. Along with a picture of him ready to take a golf swing, he wrote, “Delighted to announce I will be playing in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am at the start of next month! Let’s go“. According to The Mirror report, Gareth will be part of the celebrity cast of the tournament, along with big names like Bill Murray and Jason Bateman.

Back in 2020, Gareth talked about his love for golf and said, “Football is my No.1 sport. I’m paid to do it and I always give my best. Golf is a hobby, like anyone else would have a hobby.” However, this hobby can quickly become his new sport.

The decorated soccer career of the star

Along with 111 matches, Gareth played for his national team World Cup 2022 and the qualifiers are among some of the most notable ones. Against Australia in the Semifinal of qualifiers, Gareth lead his team to win by himself as he scored 2 goals. He also got a place for his team in the big tournament in Qatar as he took the free kick against Ukraine in the final a Ukrainian player deflected that to the goalpost.
