The World Cup winner will be looking ahead to beginning a new chapter of his life. Many are unhappy with his decision to join David Beckham’s franchise, but Jimmy Butler believes he made a good decision. While speaking ahead of the NBA Finals, the Heats star had few words to quote for his emphatic move.

He said, “A lot of good. Obviously, he’s one of the greatest players to play that beautiful game. And I’m so excited for the city of Miami to have a player of that caliber here.” Butler heaped a lot of praise on the former Barcelona man, while adding that he’s excited for the Florida-based club.

“I’m excited for the city of Miami in so many different ways, obviously, as being in the final, you have an opportunity to do something special. Now that he’s here, all the football and soccer fans are gonna come here and get an opportunity to watch him compete, so I’m glad he’s here,” he added.

Butler also pointed out that Messi’s arrival has also opened the door for other soccer stars to come and watch him play in the US. Either way, the NBA star is eager to see him in action. Moreover, he’ll be looking to build his friendship with Messi, as both share a common friendship with Neymar.

A good friend of Neymar

Both Messi and Butler have a good bond with Neymar and the Heats’ power forward will be looking to make use of it. A few weeks back, the 33-year-old faced Denver Nuggets in the NBA Finals, where he expected his friend Neymar to be in the stands. He expressed his hopes to see the Brazilian saying, “So Ney, I know you’re looking somewhere. You’d better be there”.
