Cristiano Ronaldo grabbed the spotlight after signing for Al Nassr in the previous winter transfer window. Many soccer luminaries followed his footsteps and embarked on a new chapter in the Saudi league. On this note, Jose Mourinho appears to be considering a move to the Middle East following his deteriorating relationship with FC Roma.

The Portuguese manager failed to make any significant impact in this season with the Italian giant. Roma struggled to emulate their performance from the past two seasons as they currently stand in 10 place in Serie A. Furthermore, the consecutive underwhelming displays have cast doubt on the manager’s position for the upcoming season.

The Special One is entering the final stretch of his contract with Giallorossi as 2024 approaches. Mourinho guided Roma to their inaugural European title, winning the Conference League and finishing as runners-up in the Europa League during the 2022-23 season. However, the former United coach is unlikely to sign any new contract with Roma, given their disappointing performance across various competitions.

Roma has suffered three defeats and secured just four victories in their first nine games this season. According to Sky Sports Italia, the Special One has not been in communication with the hierarchy regarding the extension of his tenure with the club. As a result, Mourinho is expected to part ways with Roma at the end of this season.

Will Mourinho join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Middle East?

The former Inter Milan boss discussed his plans to work in SPL during an interview with MBC TV channel. Mourinho expressed confidence in excelling on the Arabian soil after achieving noteworthy success in the European Leagues. He said in the interview, “I will go to Saudi Arabia in some free time. But I am convinced that I will work there. I don’t know when, but I am sure of it.”

Furthermore, Mourinho could potentially reunite with Ronaldo, as he did not rule out the idea of managing a Saudi Arabian club. The 60-year-old coach enjoyed immense success with Roonie during his three years in Los Blancos, including winning La Liga in the 2011- 12 season. Soccer enthusiasts could witness the formidable duo again in the next season if the Special One receives a fitting offer that aligns with his interest in the Saudi Pro League.
