Neymar Jr. sent everyone into shockwaves after an explosive interview. He didn’t hold back and slammed his former employer, PSG. He labeled the stint as ‘hell‘ for himself and Lionel Messi. However, the statement made by the Brazilian hasn’t gone down well with a French legend, who hit back at both superstars.

Neymar switched his allegiances in 2017 for a world-record transfer fee to play for PSG. After four years, his pal Messi joined the club on a free transfer after FC Barcelona wasn’t able to extend his contract. But the PSG move took away the smile from the Argentine, who labeled his stay as ‘unhappy.’ Neymar went a step ahead to describe it. And it seems not everyone agrees with their remarks on the Parisian side.

Qatari Sports Investment took over PSG in 2011 with high ambitions. The French club has stamped its authority in domestic competitions since. But owners want to make the club a force to reckon with in the European competition. They have overhauled the club with superstar signings but failed to do so. However, the Ultras and fans were optimistic about continental supremacy after signing Messi.

Yet, that wasn’t meant to be. The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner wasn’t able to help the club beyond the round of 16 in the last two seasons. The love for Messi and Neymar soon turned sour. For the Brazilian, his timely injuries frustrated the fans. They protested against two of their talismans, asking them to leave the club. All of these led to the end of their stint with the Parisians, and both Messi and Neymar opened up about the unhappy time. Anyhow, the Al Hilal forward had some sensational claims.

Neymar divulged on his PSG stay recently. Speaking about Messi joining him at the Parisians, Neymar said, “I was very happy for the year he had but at the same time very sad because he’s experienced both sides of the coin. He’s gone to heaven with the Argentina national team. He’s won everything in recent years, and with Paris, he lived through hell. We lived through hell, both he and I,” speaking to O Globo.

Neymar felt the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner left the French champion in a way that he didn’t deserve. Accordingly, he and Messi tried their heart out to succeed but failed. The treatment they received was unacceptable. It will be interesting to see how PSG responds to the criticism from Neymar after those harsh words.
