Al Hilal’s veteran defender Ali Al-Bulaihi has been making the headlines for the wrong reasons. In the Riyadh Derby where his team thoroughly outclassed Cristiano Ronaldo‘s Al Nassr, the Al Hilal star confronted Ronaldo and his teammate Alex Telles. However, the referee punished the defender with a second yellow card in the closing minutes of the game for taunting rival fans. Per recent updates, Al-Bulaihi will face more consequences for his conduct.

In the matchup against Cristiano Ronaldo and co. Ali Al-Bulaihi hardly missed any action, as he saw the red card in the dying minutes of the game. However, as things stand now, he will miss some crucial action in the coming days.

During the match, Al Nassr’s Cristiano Ronaldo was visibly unhappy with the refereeing and even hinted that the match official was being biased toward Al Hilal. While Ronaldo expressed his disappointment towards the official, the Saudi Arabian defender intervened and kept on talking trash to the former. Ronaldo maintained his cool while the rival was at his ear, all guns blazing. This was just the beginning of Al Bulaihi’s antics. Later, he rattled Al Nassr’s Alex Telles, who was on the bench.

After Al Hilal sealed Al Nassr’s fate with a 3rd goal, Al Bulaihi started to provoke Al Nassr fans. Eventually, the referee Wilman Roldan pulled a second yellow card in the 93rd minute, expelling the 34-year-old. According to Al Riyadiya, the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation will suspend him for one match, as he got red-carded in the Al Nassr game. The player will miss Al Hilal’s Saudi League matchup with Al Tai on Friday.

Al-Bulaihi has already invited wide fan fury for his recklessness against Cristiano Ronaldo, before this action from the Saudi Football Federation. A year later, in a similar scenario, Al-Bulaihi got to lock horns with Ronaldo. Perhaps the high spirits after winning against tough rivals have prompted the player to be a bit reckless. This time, however, the recklessness got called out with a severe warning.
