Inter Miami played their MLS fixture against Nashville SC just hours ago, which unfortunately ended in a stalemate. Lionel Messi and his teammates couldn’t manage to clinch three points as they compromised on a draw. While today’s matchday result keeps them in the limelight, a rival star harnessed his inner Cristiano Ronaldo to celebrate his goal.

Both Messi and Ronaldo are the undisputed greats of the beautiful game. Speaking of Ronaldo, while he may have left Europe for the Middle East, his influence and legacy still remain underneath the hearts of his ardent fans.

While Inter Miami was tussling against Nashville, other MLS teams also carried on with their domestic procedures. Subsequently, both Eastern Conference sides, New York City and CF Montreal locked horns with each other to rally for three points. The New York side managed to clinch a 2-0 win thanks to first-half goals from Andres Jasson and Monsef Bakrar.

Although both were impressive goals, the celebrations, particularly of the second goal, were quite interesting. After doubling the Pigeons’ lead, Bakrar quickly ran towards the corner and hit Ronaldo’s infamous SIUUU celebration. Not all, but yes, most of the crowd also shouted SIUU, thus, celebrating Bakrar’s first MLS goal.

It’s quite an eyebrow-raising celebration from the New York City star, given Messi’s growing influx of popularity in the MLS. Certainly, La Pulga won’t be impressed with Bakrar’s antics. However, it must have definitely brought a smile to Ronaldo’s face, who would be happy to see his influence reach his arch-rivals’ league.

For Messi, as if the Miami star wasn’t already upset with splitting the points that he had to see Ronaldo’s celebration. Speaking of which, let’s dive deeper into the Herons’ draw against Nashville, as Messi failed to find the target.

Lionel Messi fires blank for Inter Miami

It wasn’t Inter Miami’s or Lionel Messi’s night as they intended it to be. Even after pushing all the buttons of Nashville, the Herons came up shy of earning the vital three points. Remarkably, it was the same opponent that they overcame during the Leagues Cup final to secure their inaugural championship. However, this time they failed to show their supremacy.

Interestingly, legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather was also in the stands to catch the Argentine superstar live. But coming back, despite being on the field from the start to the final whistle, Messi couldn’t break the deadlock. As of now, Miami is sitting at 14th with just 22 points. Furthermore, today’s matchday result may present uninvited consequences in front of them. Certainly, Tata Martino and Co. must introspect the match and aim to bounce back in the next one.
