French superstar Kylian Mbappe has received a massive setback following the recent changes in FIFA’s regulations. The Frenchman has spent the vast majority of his career professionally managed by his mother, Fayza Lamari. However, according to the new laws, the PSG icon will have to look for an actual soccer agent, as his mum won’t be allowed to represent him anymore.

Fayza Lamari was recently criticized by Achraf Hakimi’s manager, Alejandro Camano. Camano claimed that Lamari had to respect the profession and that just being someone’s family does not allow you to work as their agent.

Fayza Lamari will not be Mbappe’s agent from now on

Kylian Mbappe and his mother will have to stop professionally working together in the future. According to the recent changes to FIFA’s laws, no individual without a license can manage players. Fayza Lamari functioned as her son’s agent for the majority of his career but will not be allowed anymore. She will have to step down following the new regulations, as stated by Culture Bene.

The clause came under effect after agents had complained about family members working as agents without a proper license. Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and his father made $45 million in agent fees, with the player’s father acting as his agent during the deal. With players signing big money deals as of late, FIFA is trying its best to limit individuals from taking the money into the same household.
