There is a wise saying in soccer that you should strengthen while on top. This seems to be the philosophy adopted by Luis Castro & Al Nassr. Despite boasting of a star-studded team with the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo & Sadio Mane, the club hierarchy is actively seeking to strengthen the squad. As per the latest news, Al Nassr is interested in acquiring the services of a reliable Al Shabab star, who is yet to find his feet on the national team!
Also, this likely will pave the exit for French midfielder Seko Fofana. It was not long ago that he publicly declared himself unhappy. With the team just 7 points behind Al Hilal, it seems the upper management does not want any disruption behind the scenes as they prepare for a potential title charge.

As per the latest news, the Knights of Najd want to sign Moteb Al-Harbi from Al Shabab. To achieve this, they are willing to offer an out-of-favor Seko Fofana on loan and a $10.6 million offer. Interestingly, Al Nassr has even offered to cover Seko Fofana’s salary during his loan stay. Al-Harbi is a left-back with over 90 games for Al Shabab. The 23-year-old is quite dynamic with his pace being his biggest asset.

However, his positioning and passing can be improved and regardless of his immense potential, he is still not the finished article. Also, the full-back has played just 4 times for his national side. Despite all of that, he is the profile of a player whom Cristiano Ronaldo & other attackers would love to play and combine with. However, pulling off this transfer is complicated, not just because of Al Shabab’s position as 11th in the table, but also because of the stringent transfer rules that recently were made public by reports.

SPL’s complicated transfer system could hinder Cristiano Ronaldo and Co.’s plans
Al Nassr undoubtedly has the cash to splash. Yet, the challenge for them is the lengthy & complex 3-step transfer regulation. The first step involves submitting an application to the league. Incidentally, this is the hardest step, where the financial conduciveness of the transfer is studied.
Next, the terms of the agreement are drafted by the club and signed by the player. Finally, the signed documents have to be produced before the necessary party. The transfer window is exactly one month and Al Nassr faces the difficult challenge of convincing the player & Al Shabab before starting the lengthy procedure.
Can Al Nassr pull off the signing? Let us know in the comments below.
