Cristiano Ronaldo was born with an unwavering winning mentality. The Portuguese superstar always thrives on challenges and has competed with countless rivals over the years. But this time the Al Nassr star’s challenger is none other than his 13-year-old son, as he urges Cristiano Jr. to ‘watch and learn‘ by netting a jaw-dropping free-kick.

All this started with Cristiano Jr. when the teen was practicing his free kicks with Chelsea U18 player, Yahya Idrissi-Regragui. Ronaldo’s eldest son had scored a brilliant top-right corner free-kick, which Idrissi-Regragui even shared on his social media. This led the 38-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo to send a response to his son. CR7 shared a clip of himself, where he scored a similar kind of free-kick from a similar spot and on the same side of the goalpost.

After scoring the free-kick, the Real Madrid icon flared his hands and pointed towards the camera, saying, Cris this was better than yours.” Cristiano Ronaldo then made a celebration gesture and shouted his iconic “Siuuu.” The video was posted with a caption saying, Cris, Watch and Learn. sssiiiimmmm.” Indeed, this was quite a father-son bonding moment. In either video, the two scored such outrageous free-kicks that it’s hard to decide which one was better. Let’s see if Jr. will further escalate this friendly free-kick battle with his superstar dad.

Just like his father, Cristiano Jr. also signed a three-year contract with Al Nassr earlier. He will continue to play for the academy. Since then, Jr. has been making quite an impression in the youth setup, scoring bangers and even shushing players. While he may have the pressure in mind to tread his dad’s career path full of glory, Cristiano Ronaldo, on the other hand, wants him to do things as per his own wish.

One take at a time

I first kicked a soccer ball when I was 12. My early exposure to playing the sport earned me many accolades at the zonal and district levels. I still remember my first goal, where I scored a 90+5 minute header like Sergio Ramos did in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.
