Al Nassr has successfully touched down in China. Preparations for the much-awaited friendly clash against Shanghai Shenhua and Zhejiang are in full swing as soccer fans have high hopes set for the match. However, beyond the excitement of the game, it seems the enthusiasm of the Chinese fans might see Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. etch their names in the Guinness Book of World Records.

The reason behind Luis Castro and the team’s participation in the China tour transcends sporting reasons. Aside from the financial gains, the Knights of the Najd are eager to enhance their global footprint, facilitated by Cristiano Ronaldo. As part of the ongoing tour, Al Nassr players are scheduled for a special day near the stadium, allowing fans to meet and take photos with them. In fact, Ronaldo is set to feature in a live broadcast on a Chinese platform.

If the Portuguese superstar manages to make an appearance, he can potentially garner the highest viewership in the platform’s history. This doesn’t end here, as the same Chinese platform aims to sell 1000 Al Nassr jerseys during the live broadcast in an attempt to secure the fastest sales record in the Guinness Book of Records.

So far, the stay in China has been quite favorable for Ronaldo, who received a wholesome gift the moment he arrived. In fact, all the fans have planned a special tribute for CR7, where they’ll be raising over 10,000 banners and chant his name in the 7th and 52nd minutes of the game. He’ll certainly look to pay back his Eastern-Asian fans by putting on a show in both matches. Speaking of which, what’s the update on his injury?

Earlier, a heartbreaking update came surrounding Ronaldo’s fitness. Reports suggested that the skipper was ruled out for over two weeks, which would have seen him miss the China tour as well as the ‘last dance’ against Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami. However, in a recent clip, he was seen training with the whole group.

Even though he was expected to train alone, it appears the calf muscle in doubt is not as bad as previously considered. This means the 38-year-old can participate in all the upcoming friendlies. However, it would be interesting to see if Castro would risk him for 90 minutes, given that he just came back from the alligator’s mouth.

One take at a time

I first kicked a soccer ball when I was 12. My early exposure to playing the sport earned me many accolades at the zonal and district levels. I still remember my first goal, where I scored a 90+5 minute header like Sergio Ramos did in the 2014 Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.
