It had been quite a speculative summer for Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman’s domestic future was constantly a topic of debate among the soccer fraternity. While he seemingly maintained an unstable relationship with PSG, one would believe that would still be the case. But in an interesting revelation by his teammate Achraf Hakimi, the player is claimed to be content and the hope in the camp is that he would stay for ‘much longer’.

After constantly being backed by fans and pundits to make his move to Real Madrid, ‘a 100% NO’ by the La Liga giants was an indication that the player was eventually snubbed by the Spanish club.

In the summer, Kylian Mbappe squared off against PSG over his contract. Despite not being interested in staying with the Parisians, the World Cup winner was forced to stay put. While this would indicate his relations with PSG are tense, it is the opposite of what one has been expecting. Apparently, the youngster is happy where he is right now. This claim was made by his good friend and teammate, Achraf Hakimi.

The defender claims that the Frenchman is focused on the Ligue 1 giants. While speaking with El Desmarque, he said, “It’s not my thing, that’s for him to decide. He is happy, quite happy and he shows it. Let’s hope he stays with us for much longer. The truth is that we don’t talk about that, he doesn’t have it in mind. We talk about ourselves, about the present, about Paris, and the truth is we hope to do great things together.”

Certainly, Hakimi’s claims are a hope for all PSG fans who don’t want Kylian Mbappe to leave. As things stand, the French giants are in a position to lose the player for free as his contract is set to expire in January. Additionally, his potential employer, Real Madrid, is reportedly waiting for him to become a free agent and then start the negotiations. However, the club recently released a statement, clearing the air.
