Al Nassr FC seems to have no intentions of slowing down when it comes to bringing top stars from around the world to their team. After the groundbreaking signing of Cristiano Ronaldo last season, the Saudi Arabian club has continued to build on its success by acquiring other world-class talents. And now, they have set their sights on Ronaldo’s Portugal teammate.

This summer transfer window, Al Nassr has already secured the signings of Alex Telles, Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana, and Sadio Mane. However, these high-profile acquisitions have left the team facing some financial restrictions. Despite this, Al Nassr is determined to continue its pursuit of excellence by adding attacking midfielder Otavio to its roster.

Rumors of Al Nassr’s interest in Otavio have circulated for quite some time. Just a few days ago, Cristiano Ronaldo himself dismissed speculations of a contract being signed between the club and Otavio. However, recent reports indicate that Al Nassr is now preparing a lucrative offer of around $65,130,000 to secure the services of the 28-year-old midfielder.

To facilitate the transfer, Al Nassr is reportedly planning to pay the amount in three installments in order to buy out Otavio’s contract. Currently playing for FC Porto, Otavio presents a promising addition to Al Nassr’s lineup. Particularly due to his versatility and experience playing alongside Ronaldo in the Portuguese national team.

Otavio’s journey to representing Portugal is an interesting one. He initially played for Brazil’s national team during his youth career but made the decision to switch to Portugal in 2021. As Al Nassr continues to defy expectations and attract star players, their financial constraints still serve as an obstacle.

As previously discussed, Al-Nassr has made significant efforts to acquire top-tier talent from around the globe. However, moving forward, this task may prove more challenging as they will be operating independently. Recent reports indicate that Al Nassr will not receive any financial assistance from the transfer committee.

According to a journalist, “The recruitment committee informed Al-Nassr Club that the support for recruiting players was closed. And that only 5 players, like Al-Hilal club, regardless of the financial amounts”. This means that they will not receive any monetary aid. Consequently, all new player signings will have to be funded by the club itself. In order to secure Otavio’s signing, Al Nassr will need to make a substantial investment from their own resources.
