February hasn’t been too kind to PSG fans. At the start of the month, numerous reports stated that Kylian Mbappe agreed to join Real Madrid. The club’s ambassador also didn’t do much to alleviate the situation, she said, “There’s a good chance it’s done.” Despite the bombarding of this news across all mainstream media, there hasn’t been any official communication from PSG or the man of the hour. It seems PSG’s Lucas Hernandez understands why.

The French defender shared his thoughts on Kylian Mbappe’s potential exit this summer. On the show El Chiringuito De Jugones, he said, “We know that there is a lot of expectation behind him. We try to avoid talking about this subject. We don’t talk about it. No frankly, we don’t talk about it.” This unconventional approach, as per the full-back is just to support his teammate.

Hernandez explained, “We don’t want to annoy him too much, ask him too much. It’s up to him, to make the best decision for him, for his family, for his career.” However, what could be ‘best’ for Kylian Mbappe might not be as positive for PSG and the club’s overall balance.

For starters, the French attacker is PSG’s leading goalscorer this campaign with 20 goals in 19 matches. Second on the list is midfielder Vitinha with just 5 goals. Hence, replacing a player like Kylian Mbappe would cost significant financial investment for the Parisian club. Speaking of financial investments, PSG had bought an 18-year-old Mbappe for $194 million. Real Madrid could be getting a better version of him for absolutely free!

Moreover, Luis Enrique & Co. are still competing in several cup competitions. Hence, the Mbappe news could unsettle the dressing room. This is why Christophe Dugarry demanded an answer from the striker. The French legend asserted, “I think he is responsible if he stops this whole circus quickly…He has to stop. As soon as he knows his decision, he must do it.” Yet Kylian Mbappe has maintained silence through all this. One which the PSG ambassador understands quite well!

Despite Kylian Mbappe’s silence, PSG’s ambassador ‘respects’ him

Former PSG player and club ambassador Laure Boulleau was among the first to break the news of the PSG star agreeing to join Real Madrid. However, that wasn’t the only thing she had said. She is also quite understanding of his decision, should he depart for Spain. Boulleau explained, “I understand his position not to say anything. Put yourself in his shoes. He still has goals to achieve. I think he loves his club. He has respect.”
