A year ago, Cristiano Ronaldo suffered a heartbreak with Portugal in the 2022 World Cup against Morocco in the Quarter-finals. This led to the opposition fans trolling him. However, he recovered from the defeat and is doing well with the Saudi club. The sister of the Portuguese star has posted on social media in his defense a year after the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s career with the national team has also improved under Roberto Martinez. The 38-year-old is now looking forward to competing for the 2024 Euros trophy.

Portugal suffered a shocking quarter-final defeat against Morocco in the 2022 Qatar World Cup. This tournament also saw Cristiano Ronaldo’s relationship with Fernando Santos take a hit. However, after a year, he is now doing well under new management. His sister Katia Aveiro has also posted a supporting message on Instagram for the Al Nassr star. She wrote, “So my brother don’t worry about the humiliation with the judgment of the sinners, nor the pointing fingers at you, don’t care what other people think. It is because it’s been a long time since other’s opinions have changed your life. It’s okay as long as you do not humiliate anyone’s morale or embarrass your God, or those who created you and put you in the world.”

This is about the fans who trolled him after his World Cup failure. Many also blamed him for the failure of the team to win their game against Morocco. His disappointment further increased as he left Manchester United after his problems with Erik ten Hag.

Since then a lot of things have changed for the good of Cristiano Ronaldo and their family. The Portuguese star is doing well this season and competing for trophies in Saudi Arabia and Portugal.

The Al Nassr star is currently the highest goal scorer in the Saudi League. However, his team remains in second place amid their loss against rivals Al Hilal. He also played his 1200th game and scored the opening goal against Al Riyadh. The Portuguese star also finished the highest scorer for his national team in the Euro qualifiers with 10 goals.

Al Nassr is also ready to offer him a contract extension until 2027.  This is because he intends to finish his career in the cash-rich league. It also indicates that he is in very much contention for the 2026 World Cup.
