The United States Women’s National Team is in the process of transition. Ever since appointing Emma Hayes as the new head coach, the ladies are looking to rise from the ashes after the 2023 World Cup setback. While the fanbase is eagerly awaiting Hayes to quickly take charge, Ali Krieger has warned USWNT players that there won’t be room for anything less than ‘the best‘ under Hayes.

The former player was on Attacking Third’s ‘Kicking It’ segment, featuring the panel of Kate Abdo, Clint Dempsey, Mo Edu, and Charlie Davies. Interestingly, Abdo asked Krieger to express her thoughts about Emma Hayes’ arrival. While insisting that she will do an ‘amazing‘ job, she said, “I don’t think she [Hayes] is going to take any sh*t from any of the players. She’ll be like, ‘Listen, you gotta prove yourself day in and day out and if you don’t, I’ll just choose the next person that can.'” Krieger believes that Hayes will demand a lot from her side and there will be no room for mistakes.

“I think all the entitlement might go out the window and people are going to have to roll their sleeves up and show up and do the work because they are not gonna have any room to not be the best,” she added. It looks like Krieger has a lot of faith in the soon-to-be USWNT head coach and acknowledges that Hayes is the one to lead the USWNT to glory. The recipient of the 2021 Best FIFA Women’s Coach of the Year will be looking to replicate the success that she achieved in England.

Krieger believes that Hayes can make perfect use of her leadership, which the USWNT not only requires but can also help them reach new heights.

Emma Hayes has the ‘leadership’ that USWNT needs

Ali Krieger agreed that after retiring from the national team, it was difficult for her to watch her nation lack ‘an identity and a specific style.’ While acknowledging that Emma Hayes has the leadership and organization, Krieger said, “She has the quality of knowing her identity of what she wants and what’s expected.”

Krieger added that the 47YO has self-awareness about her roles and responsibilities and what style she will implement for the 4x World Champions. Nevertheless, looking at the amount of dedication and work Hayes has put into Chelsea within the span of 11 seasons, it’s no secret that bad days are about to end for USWNT.
