Erling Haaland has become a household name in soccer. The Norwegian superstar has established himself as one of the biggest generational talents. While he is often known for outshining rival players on the scoresheet, this time he is dominating another kind of chart. As per those latest standings, Erling Haaland has beaten Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, and his own teammate Phil Foden too, by becoming the world’s most expensive player.

Just days ago, the youngster was on every news headline after winning the Gerd Muller Award at the 2023 Ballon d’Or ceremony. In no time, he has yet again managed to outshine his competitors and come out on top.

A few months ago, the CIES Football Observatory released a list of the top 100 most expensive players in soccer at the moment. Interestingly, Erling Haaland once again found his way to the top, as he is valued at €250 million, or $270 million. While one may agree with the Manchester City star’s position, it’s the placement of Bellingham and Mbappe that may raise a few eyebrows.

The Englishman is in fourth place with a price tag of €190 million, or $206 million. Ahead of the dynamic midfielder is his Real Madrid teammate Vinicius Jr. (€196 million or $212 million) and Arsenal star Bukayo Saka (€195 million or $211 million), who got the podium finish from a difference of mere millions. Meanwhile, the shocker is Kylian Mbappe, who is in 10th place with a price tag of €163 million or $176 million.

Behind Jude Bellingham is another Real Madrid star, Rodrygo, valued at €185 million or $200 million. Additionally, FC Barcelona midfielder duo Pedri (€178 million or $192 million) and Pablo Gavi (€174 million or $188 million) finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Notably, Jamal Musiala (€170 million or $184 million) finished eighth, and behind him is Erling Haaland’s teammate, Phil Foden (€167 million or $180 million).

Be that as it may, it is quite an interesting list that will surely ignite a lot of debate among soccer fans. While this may have been another top-ranking for Erling Haaland, he shockingly was trailing behind in his own country on another vital list.
